We came down to celebrate my 40th birthday and this place made it extra special. The red caboose is amazing and nothing was left untouched and was crafted with so much love and it shows. All aboard the best Christmas Eve ever! Staying in this beautiful red caboose felt like a  holiday dream come true. The decor was so thoughtful and truly captured the holiday spirit in every corner. Our favorite memory was spending the evening outside by the fire, wrapped in blankets and watching the stars. It was so peaceful and the perfect way to spend the night before Christmas. My family came to visit Elephant Rock & Johnson Shut Ins, when searching for a place to stay overnight we came across Tina's caboose and thought it was so cool and would be so much fun to stay in, especially with our two kids, and we are SO glad we did. The caboose exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, with the railroad crossing lighting up as we drove through to the evening under the stars by the adorable fire pit area, everything was just perfect. Our kids' eyes lit up with all the sweet memories we made here, and we only stayed one night. Tina quite literally didn't forget one detail. We had everything we needed and more, and by more I mean she had a sound machine by the bed, phone charges, fresh muffins in the perfectly put together tiny kitchen, and there were even bath robes. We loved that it even had a nice yard area, where our kids ran and played chase while my husband and I sat around the fire of the evening. We will definitely be visiting again !

We had such a special stay in the red caboose. It was a real treat for our daughter. Her dad and I have been reading The Boxcar Children together, and we had just finished book #11 The Caboose Mystery. So getting to actually stay in a caboose made it extra magical for her. The space was very neat and clean, and you can tell a lot of care went into restoring it. It felt unique but still comfortable, such a fun and memorable stay. We would definitely recommend it, especially for families!

The caboose was the most unique place. It is truly beautiful and has so much charm and character throughout the entire place. So much thought and love was put into this place. We felt so cozy and at home. The kids loved the loft and the open side field where we could play yard games. The firepit area was so enjoyable as well. The place was immaculate and we felt safe staying there and the surrounding area. Tina was so sweet to leave us chocolates on our pillows and fresh muffins for breakfast. Walmart is a couple of minutes away if you forget or need anything and there is a gas station right around the corner so anything you may still need is very close by but the place itself was private and peaceful. We would definitely stay again and have sent the link for the caboose to so many people already.

being a train cargo was perfect. The hooks for towels and toilet paper being part of the rail road. The flashing lights when coming into the property were very neat. The fire pit was perfect and she supplied the wood, lighter, and fire starter. Everything about this place was amzing. Will definitely be back. Worth the 4 hour drive.

We’ve stayed at a number of Airbnbs and cleanliness is important to us, and this place was exceptionally clean! We came with our kids and they loved it. Such a neat experience for them. It was nice having a good amount of space to play outside away from the road as well. We hadn’t stayed in Fredericktown before, but there are quite a few restaurants and a nice coffee shop to check out. Tina was a great host. We enjoyed our stay and will have to come back again!

We had such a special stay at the Caboose! Ours was last minute booking and Tina was only too happy to accommodate us. With only two hours from booking to our arrival, she had made sure the spot was ready for us; Christmas lights were twinkling, the space was spotless, and there was delicious muffins waiting for us. She has honestly thought of everything and I was impressed with how much convenience she had tucked into every corner. She also had everything we needed to start a fire and spend a couple hours staring up at the stars. The caboose was a short drive to restaurants (we had a nice dinner at Lalos and coffee in the morning at The Station) and was only 30 minutes away from Elephant Rocks State Park. The care and attention Tina put so obviously put into the caboose's renovation is the same care and attention she doles out on her guests. It's absolutely worth the visit and I would 100% stay again.

My fiance and I had a great visit. We celebrated our second anniversary in style in a classic caboose! It was a very unique experience and very well put together. We love the sdesign and the interior layout. Every detail was thought of and everything put together nicely! We will definitely recommend this stay to all of our friends that travel this way.
